On June 5, a sign unveiling ceremony for the “Institute for General Education and International Collaborative Learning” was held at the second-floor entrance of the General Education Lecture Building. The ceremony was attended by President Takashi Wada, Executive Director and Vice President Akira Morimoto, Vice President and head of the Institute Kyoko Ojima, Professor Toru Furuhata from the Faculty of International Studies of the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, and faculty and staff from the Institute.??

The Institute was established on April 1, 2025, with the goal of fostering individuals capable of addressing global and regional social issues. It aims to achieve this by creating an environment where Japanese and international students can learn together on a daily basis.

During the ceremony, President Wada expressed his strong determination to "strive as an 'All-Kanazawa University' toward the realization of a global campus." This was followed by Director Ojima’s explanation of the organizational structure of the Institute. Faculty and staff in attendance reaffirmed their commitment as members of Kanazawa University to advancing multicultural collaborative learning and nurturing “Kanazawa University-brand human resources”.
